Biography

Pat Dalton always has loved writing in many forms.

Her novels often evoke exotic settings which she has visited, with romance developing amid intrigue and suspense. Humor also emerged as a trademark in some. Pat’s novels have been published worldwide in ten languages, including French, German, Italian, Dutch, Greek, Japanese, Hebrew, Danish, Norwegian, and Bulgarian, as well as in other English-speaking countries. Her books have been selected for additional large-print editions for the visually impaired.

Five of Pat’s novels, originally published in hardcover and paperback by Doubleday and Berkley, may be ordered in new editions from online book sellers such as www.barnesandnoble.com, or bookstores.

Escape to the tropics with “novel travel” in Close Scrutiny, Twice in a Lifetime, and Winds of Destiny, set in Hawaii and Tahiti/Polynesia; and Close to Sunrise, set on an island near Sanibel and Fort Myers off Florida’s Gulf Coast. Or join a cross-country run with an appealing, alleged spy in the romantic comedy/adventure, Conspiracy of Hearts.

“Have laptop, will travel,” is Pat’s motto. The novel settings are authentic. Pat is a widely published travel writer, with articles written for inflight magazines of major international and national airlines, for Amtrak Express, and for national specialty magazines such as physician’s leisure magazines. She also has published articles, including front-page lead features, in travel sections of major newspapers coast-to-coast, including the Los Angeles Times, New York Daily News, San Jose Mercury-News, Baltimore Sun, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Vancouver Province, and Denver Post.

Pat has published a diversity of features and profiles in major, national general-interest and women’s magazines, from Modern Maturity to Cosmopolitan, from Woman’s World to Campus Voice. She wrote the original storyline for a produced-for-video movie, which became The Man who Guards the Greenhouse, starring handsome Christopher Casenove (who played the “villain” in Three Men and a Little Lady). Pat also owned and operated a business writing firm with national clientele.

Soon available will be a short humor book geared to persons who have or who want to understand multiple chemical sensitivities, severe allergies, chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome (also known as CFIDS, CFS, and myalgic encephalitis), and similar conditions, currently titled Real Ex-Humes: Real Extremely, Excessively, Extraordinarily Exhausted Humans

Pat’s first “break” came in the fifth grade, when her poem entitled Go West was published in the Denver Post. Pat currently resides in Denver, but is willing to inherit an estate on Maui, or anywhere else in the tropics.

THIS WEBSITE REMAINS UNDER DEVELOPMENT. Pat’s photographs of locales in her novels will be posted as soon as she figures out how. More detailed information on other books will be added.
